Business Transformational Outsourcing
By Ben Trowbridge, Managing Partner North America

Q:- What are the main differences between BTO and traditional outsourcing?
BT:- In a very basic sense, BTO involves all of the elements that make traditional outsourcing so appealing (e.g., reduced costs, improved service levels, and increased efficiency) and combines them with an ambitious strategy to transform the business on an enterprise-wide level in order to realize measurable, strategic business outcomes. Organizational change is typically a costly –and often risky – venture, but BTO offers companies the opportunity to leverage the advantages of outsourcing (e.g., offshore labor arbitrage, economies of scale, and world-class technology) to achieve change faster and at a lower cost while sharing the risks with the outsourced provider.

Q:- If you could boil it down to one factor, what would you say is the key driver to achieving success with BTO?
BT:- Successful Business Transformation Outsourcing depends on forming a collaborative relationship with defined and then aligned business objectives. The objective should be a win-win relationship; BTO is about finding creative ways to align to share the risks and rewards. More
